The Blogging Phenomenon II

Classification of blogs & methods to build blogging communities : :

According to Wikipedia, there are six types of blogs that recognized which are Personal Blog, Corporate Blog, Question Blogging, Media Blog, Device Blog and Genre Blog.

However, Margaret Simons (2008) has identified nine types of blogs which are Pamphleteering Blog, Digest Blog, Advocacy Blog, Popular Mechanics Blog, Exhibition Blog, Gatewatcher Blog, Diary Blog, Advertisement Blog and News Blog.

Most of these blogs are difficult to identify since it have unique features and contents characteristics. What’s more, most people that participate in blogging are varying in reason and purpose, and the process of evaluating the blogs are very much diverse and miscellaneous. Different kind of blog may have different kind of targeted audience.

For me, it is not the layout or the design of the blog that matters, instead, I value more the content of the blog, the topic discussed, the depth of points and the writing style. These factors could nail my interest to take a deeper plunge into the blogger’s nest of ideas and arguments, or at least captivates viewers with such astonishing and beautiful style of writing.

Reading can be much more pleasant if the readers learn something new hitherto exciting, that they might have never acknowledged before.
